Truth(less) brush in British Airways
In British Airways ...
I experienced a great service & tasty food on my journey from India to Washington DC.
As I boarded in British Airways I realized that I'm in an international flight - a smiling, welcoming courteous staff and pre-flight juices, Good movies, comfortable seats.
No doubt British Airways has tremendous service and they are very much competitive in deals and good in customer service.
Customers are increasing day-by-day in British Airways.
As a part of services, British Airways distributed amenities with a pack of tooth brush, tooth paste, socks and eye shades.
While using tooth brush in amenities pack I identified few interesting things.
------------------------------------------------------------------
A Scenario:
A passenger opens the pack in London airport and takes the toothbrush out and unscrews/opens the cap. Since he is going to use only once, he throws the cap in trash.
As he opens the brush upside down & it was too late that a small tooth paste has already fallen on ground. He looks at the paste and he was so confused to whether use the paste or not. He didn't see British Airways Logo in it or any international brand in it.
Since he had no other options, he applies paste on the brush; he finds it uncomfortable in using the toothbrush provided British Airways, because he couldn't able to hold the brush. It was too late for him to realize that the cap he trashed was part of the brush, it was a holder.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Few issues were identified:
User couldn't able to identify that they have to use the brush cap to hold, by inserting the cap in brush.
I identified that many people had issues in using the brush provided by British Airways.
Solution Needed:
Now toothbrush manufactured would have already had a stock of thousands of brush delivered to British Airways, Its too late to redesign the brush!!! As a usability analyst we need suggestions any design idea with a minimal change.
