Transferring file from comp to Ipod Nano

My friend got one Ipod nano as gift & he didn't had comp & used my laptop to transfer few songs to his new nano.

While transferring songs from comp to IPOD-Nano, I was really surprised to see the message as "do not disconnect". But actually I was transferring songs. It was not showing the system status. I
