What women wants? Study on mobile phone by Vodafone

From the recent research Vodafone detailed its insights into what women expects from mobile phones and functions. This research applicable not only for handheld devices, but also any medium where ever woman user interacts with.

Vodaphone studies says that - When they buy a mobile phone, one-third of women trust in their own judgement and don't ask for advice. If they aren't entirely sure, they ask their husband, boyfriend, or a sales assistant. Single women also take female friends with them to the shop. Female customers are price conscious. 66 percent of the respondents said that the most important criterion when buying a mobile phone is price and 71 percent said it is the provider's tariff. The size and design of the mobile phone plays a subordinate role. One surprising finding is that the presumed 'typical female' criterion of colour was only accorded a priority ranking of eleven out of a total of sixteen criteria.

Few Interesting points from Vodaphone study:
  1. design is the number one selling-point.
  2. User research found around 55 percent want a phone that is round, light colored and opens like a clamshell.
  3. Some 18 percent want a more business-oriented model,
  4. 14 percent want to make a statement with an extrovert design, and
  5. 13 percent just wanna have fun, funky design.
