User Experience Consultant / IA

Position: User Experience Consultant

Salary: £38,000 - £60,000 depending on experience

Location: London (North)

Introduction:

Founded in 2004 my client has quickly established themselves as a leader in affiliate marketing. With a turnover in excess of £1 million per month and an aggressive recruitment plan to take on 18 new staff in the first half of
2007, this company is an exciting place to work.

The successful candidate will be highly focused individual to implement high-traffic, fast-changing public-facing websites.

Responsibilities:

Transforming business ideas into a dynamic and functional user experience

Understand and translate user requirements into models, scenarios,
storyboards, process flows, site maps, page schematics, annotated wireframes
and interactive prototypes.

Champion user experience within the company and ensure that the integrity of
information architecture is maintained across multiple sites

Mentor the design team where required and make sure that the production
process both in the team and personally is managed to meet deadlines.

You will be involved in 4 product/service areas working from scratch with
our 4 separate design teams. These may include mobile, web 2.0, publishing
and agency.

Skills and Qualities:

Work Ethic: This is important. As they are a small, growing company you will
be expected to work hard

An obsession with the internet: You will have a real passion for the
internet, in particular eCommerce and Web 2.0

Analytical Skills: Attention to detail and the ability to sift through large
amounts of data quickly are essential. You must be able to think logically
and be good at reserve engineering

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are
critical as you will be working across functional team within the company

Experience:

Bachelors degree in HCI, usability, IA, Interaction Design or related
discipline

A thorough understanding of technical limitations and design considerations

Thorough understanding of user centred design principles
