Web Developer / User Interface Developer
Daily Responsibilities
- Develops the code for the User Interfaces for in-house, custom Web-based applications using CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, JSP and Struts (preferred).
- Produces designs for new and enhanced user interfaces using HTML mockups, wireframes, page flows, interaction diagrams, etc.
- Participate in the software development team as the UI developer and also as user advocate on the teams
- Maintains set of user interface standards for in-house applications by documenting and following common web page design patterns and CSS styles
- Demonstrates and applies subject matter knowledge of design principles to create effective, efficient, and engaging products.
- Develops effective information and navigation architecture to promote user's ability to navigate and find needed functionality. Ensure room for growth as applications expand.
- Develops interfaces that meet Section 508 standards and accessibility objectives.
- Interface with the SRA-wide User Experience group to connect with their expertise.
Requirements
- 6-9 years of experience
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with studies in human-computer interaction or user experience design
- Must provide portfolio of sites or applications developed.
Required Skills
- Experience in the following technologies: XHTML, Cascading Style sheets (CSS), Java Server Pages (JSP) and JavaScript.
- Experienced with Dreamweaver, Visio, Eclipse IDE, and Photoshop or other graphics program
- Understand, apply, and promote research- and application- based usability standards and best practices.
- Demonstrate and apply knowledge and understanding of Section 508 standards and accessibility objectives.
