Cross the road

Product:
In heavy traffic free ways, the shown instruments are installed to assist pedestrians in crossing road.

Scenario:
If a person needs to cross the road, a person stands near the signal and push the button & after few seconds depending on the traffic flow & other signals, the Walk signal will be displayed for pedestrians.

Few issues were identified here:
1. uncomfortable to push button in cold whetherwhile wearing gloves.
2. If there a problem with button don't know where to inform and complain.
(in this scenario photo is shooted as "already button is pushed in")
3. In wide roads walk signal stays for 7 to 9 seconds, and most of the time user will be in the hassle half the way.

Solution Needed:
This pedestrial crossing machine is installed in most of the places in Virignia and DC. So need suggestions with a minimal change.

Other type of machine:

I think one of those is a large button that could easily be pressed with the palm of the hand, wearing gloves, or even a gloved finger. I agree that the other one is too small for easy glove use, but I think the big round silver button is more common (I've also seen a big rubberized black button that would work with gloves).

Rajesh,

Good find, other issues I have found are :

On cross roads which button applied to which signal, there are usually instructions, which helps, but still room for improvement

Second, there is no visual feedback and I see people keep pressing this, not knowing if action was successful or not.

Cheers
